The Author

Greetings from Terri’s Little Corner.  I am Terri, creator, editor and keeper of this blog and I would like to offer you a warm welcome to my bloggy place.  In my non-virtual life, I am located in Las Vegas, where I reside with my partner of 14 years.  I am currently unemployed and taking any and all freelance writing gigs I can get.  I am also working toward my Masters of Arts degree in Organizational Change, online through Hawaii Pacific University.  I also write two columns for Examiner.com, one on Creative Writing and the other on Business Insights.  I volunteer some time each week at The Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada, doing paperwork and whatever is needed to help out.

Terri’s Little Corner welcomes everyone who comes in peace and without hate and prejudice.  All comments to my blog will be printed for the world to see unless they are of an offensive nature and would have no positive value.  In other words, no one will use my blog to spew hatred, point fingers, or humiliate others.

Everything else is fair game.    Anything from Aging to Zebras can be addressed, so don’t hold back.  I certainly won’t.

Most of the time, I will be posting humorous pieces, ones where I usually poke fun at myself and/or weird happenings in the world today.  I like to have fun!  Occasionally, I will throw in some fiction and sometimes non-fiction pieces of a more serious nature.

Please feel free to comment, ask questions, and/or provide constructive criticism.  I welcome a challenge.

I hope you’ll enjoy my little creative space and return again and again.

Warmest regards,

Terri Sonoda

Hey Terry…. I found my super passion last August when I started my blog, REALLY writing, giving up on trying to write the way I thought I was expected to.

Passion rocks. And so do you, you 57-year-old hot ticket. Congrats on being FP!! Isn’t it cool when that happens?

Not to seem ignorant, which may or may not be true, what is “FP”?

FP is Freshly Pressed, a WordPress page where the administrators put together a collection of what they consider to be the best blog posts for a certain period of time. I was Freshly Pressed with my “It Took Me 57 Years” post. Lots of people visited my blog and commented because I was listed on Freshly Pressed. It’s only happened to me once in a whole year. I was pretty proud of it.

Terri, I loved your post about finding you passion at age 57. Made me think about that Heinz 57 sauce. One (passion) found – 56 to go! Cat

    Hi Terri,

I loved your blog and I watched the show you mentioned and totally connected to what you shared. I have just started my own blog this past week and have not yet made it public. I am finding my voice and working on the courage to give it wings. I too am a late bloomer and am working on the part of me that wants to emerge. I feel a sense of expansion and excitement building and I thank you for being a “flagship”. Your voice has inspired me to continue writing and I know it won’t be long before I “publish” for the world to see. Blessings Sharon

Thank you so much for visiting, Sharon. I am so glad you’re blogging too. I will pop over for a visit. Isn’t writing a freeing experience? I think you’ll realize it more, the more you write.

I’m curious how you came across my blog, but I’ve enjoyed reading your posts. As I’m sure is probably obvious, I live in the DC area, am gay and ride a motorcycle. Your posts are very witty and I look forward to reading more.
